Flâneur

I was lucky enough to have my Wednesday afternoon class cancelled this week, and since The Husband was on Spring Break and the weather was beautiful, we decided to take advantage of the afternoon by having a picnic in the Tuileries!

Luckily, fashion week had just ended, so it wasn’t too crowded and we were able to get seats in my favorite spot — overlooking the Louvre!  Added bonus — our chairs had arm rests!  Anyone who has spent any amount of time in the Tuileries knows how hard you have to search to find open chairs that have arms, and we happened across three!

Lucky for us I always try to keep a point and shoot in my bag…

Afterwards we took a little walk, enjoying the neighborhood and shopping for things we could never afford in a million years, just to make me feel a little better about being poor grad students….

Oh well, c’est la vie!  At least we’re poor in Paris and living our dream!

P.S.  If you ever planning on going to Place Vêndome (featured in the above photo) definitely check out the history of the column in the middle.  Makes me laugh uncontrollably every time.  I love France.  Where else would you find a monument with pieces of defeated foes cannons incorporated?
