The Parental Units came into town on Thursday morning, bringing with them a rush of clothing, American food, happiness, and a tiny bit of craziness….
The craziness? Two things. First of all, a ride from the airport in an illegal taxi that ended with them receiving a (pretty sure it was counterfeit) 5 euro bill. Fail. Second of all, my dear sweet hilarious father was pickpocketed. Within the first 2 hours of landing in Paris. On his first metro ride. Fail. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN???? This is the third time that I have lived in Paris and I’ve never been pick pocketed! Poor dad, every time he wants to buy something now my mother tells him that he can’t afford it on his new budget of zero Euro. Luckily they got everything cancelled and no money had been spent, so they were only out 50 euro and 30 bucks. They also have a great daughter who can access their monies, so they’re pretty set! But still, dumb dumb dumb. This has to be some kind of new record.
After we dealt with those two fiascos, we decided to take the afternoon to do some exploring in Montmartre as this is where my Parental Units hotel is located. As this is not their first time in Paris, this trip is going to be a lot of fun since we don’t have to do the usual things like go up the Eiffel Tower!
Heres some pictures post-pickpocketing of our afternoon. They put on a good show for having been robbed, huh?
This last photo? My Parental Units and I in a nutshell. Our facial expressions? Spot-On.
